Musée Grévin is a famous wax museum which has been established in Paris, France since 1882. Much to Montrealers’ pleasure, they opened a second, but also first international, location in Montréal (at the Eaton Center) in April of 2013.
I have visited the Musée Grévin twice. Once in May of 2013 and once in the winter of 2016 in occasion of Montréal’s Nuit Blanche (part of Montréal en Lumieres Festival). Not only was the price of admittance discounted, we got to visit the museum at night armed only with a flashlight. It can be quite disorienting and eerie but we had a blast!
Over 100 wax figures are displayed, 40 of which are Québec’s famous personalities, in 8 different “universe” (rooms). My favorite is, without a doubt, the Ballroom.
If you are planning a visit to Montréal or are a resident and haven’t yet visited the museum, make sure to add it to your must see/do list. I give you my guarantee that you will not be disappointed. Who knows, this may be your only chance to rub elbows with some of Hollywood’s A-listers!
PS: Today I would like to offer my sincere condolences to Rick Genest’s family. He was a genuine person and artist. I admire his courage to live life on his own terms. May you rest in peace Zombie Boy and know that you will never be forgotten.
